---

The trees are whispering again,
amid the mist,
amid the silence.
Secrets and schemes,
promises and trusts.

The trees are whispering together,
through the heavy presence that surrounds them,
through the eerie blanket that covers them.
Of time,
of growth.

The trees are moving,
dancing atop their fallen children,
twirling through their twigly forms,
over the mossy earth.

Wood upon wood,
crushing and grinding together.
Beautiful and tragic.
Bark upon bark,
scraping and ripping apart.
Release and departure.

The trees are singing together,
music of times forgotten,
music of depth concealed.
Sirens and songs,
wailings and words.
